A gentler way forward.

Therapy for anxiety, perfectionism, and self-critical thoughts so you can feel more grounded, connected, and at ease.

Somewhere along the way, you learned to be really hard on yourself. On the outside, you appear to have it all together but inside you’re struggling.

Welcome to my practice! My name is Julia Bettge and I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor with ten years of experience providing psychotherapy.

If you’ve found my page, you probably feel tired of trying to hold it all together. You may feel depressed, depleted, lost, or distressed by dark thoughts. It’s hard enough to be a person but throw in our tumultuous political/social/economic climate and you have a recipe for burnout. We all need support sometimes and I’m here to help.

At the core of my therapeutic approach is nurturing a self-compassionate mindset. This leads to freedom from the inner critic, improved relationships, and better emotional regulation.

I deeply believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is at the heart of successful psychotherapy and is a driver of change. When treating anxiety and depression I use evidence-based interventions from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also use Behavioral Activation and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to target social anxiety and symptoms of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). When working with survivors of abuse, I integrate Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and help clients establish a sense of safety and empowerment.

Our successes and failures come and go — they neither define us nor do they determine our worthiness.
